Black Arts Movement Houston (BAM) will host the First Convening of Black Artists in Houston on November 21, 2025 at 7 PM at the historic DeLuxe Theater. This inaugural gathering brings together Black creatives across disciplines to strengthen connection, share resources, and shape a collective vision for the future of Black arts in Houston.
At the event, BAM Houston will launch a groundbreaking citywide survey to build the most comprehensive database of Black artists in Houston’s history. The evening will also introduce BAM’s new three-year strategic plan, including a transcontinental Artist Residency Program with Kigali, Rwanda and the Black Arts Movement Fellowship focused on healing-centered leadership.
All Black artists living or working in Houston are encouraged to participate and complete the survey.
